The more you have, the more you want it seems
The things you want, you tell yourself you need
The more you grow, the further you can see
The more you see, the bigger are your dreams
I see a boy, it could be Africa
He is so poor, a dream could make him happier
He dreams good food, he dreams of education
A sunshine life, free from deprivation
The boy grows up, he travels to the city
He finds it hard, mean streets they show no pity
He makes his way, now things are getting easy
He finds a girl, a home, a dog, a TV
He’s got it all, a better life it’s true
A family, his children go to school
His poverty, is hidden in the past
His dream came true, but will contentment last
Now on TV, scenes New York City
The neon lights, of Times Square look so pretty
He wants a car, a faster way to live
A limo life, to be a cool executive
The more you have, the more you want it seems
The things you want, you tell yourself you need
The more you grow, the further you can see
The more you see, the bigger are your dreams
