Jazz Trio available
The Mellowtone Jazz Trio is available for functions including weddings, parties etc, formal or fun, as well as local venues, based St Albans, Herts, UK. The Jazz Jam is a monthly jazz session held usually on the second or third Thursday each month in St Albans at the Portland Arms (see the gig list to check this month's date). Any jazz musicians interested in performing are invited to get in touch using the contact page email form
The aim of the Jazz Jam is to provide somewhere for experienced jazzers to have a blow, meet new faces and enjoy a pint of Fullers, and for relatively inexperienced players to get the feel of a live jazz session, make connections with other musicians and have a small glass of lemonade. So far over the last few years it has been successful at doing all of those things and looks set to continue in the current venue at the Portland Arms which is a really nice pub. As well as having a regular rhythm section there is also at least one experienced front line player on hand to keep every one on their toes. jazz jam blog
Busking:
If weather and time allow, Saturday and Sunday afternoons, charity busking French Row, St Albans supporting British Heart Foundation; total raised since Jan 2007 is over £8,000.
